Heat Wave

We are in the middle of a heat wave here in Southern California. When I left work yesterday, my car dash read a whopping 111 degrees outside, at 5 pm! This morning when I woke up and opened my windows, 85 degrees felt luxuriously cool.

It makes me marvel how quickly we as humans can adapt and acclimate. What normally feels unbearable suddenly feels mild when confronted with more extreme conditions. 

I am generally a fairly routine, and not particularly flexible person. It is encouraging to realize that even I can change and adapt to my ever changing external circumstances.
