The Perfect Cup of Coffee
A while back a friend introduced me to pour over coffee. Normally, on the days I go to work, I am in a mad frenzy to get out the door on time. On my days off, however, I am making a concerted effort to be more present.
Making my morning pour over coffee is a luxury. There are no buttons to push, no flashing lights, no timers to set. You can't rush the pouring of hot water over the coffee grounds. Watching the grounds expand and bloom as the hot water hits is strangely therapeutic. The resulting perfect cup of coffee is so much more satisfying because of the time and effort invested into it.
My pour over coffee ritual teaches me so many lessons about life. Slow down. Marvel at the beauty in things that we take for granted every day. Savor the process as much as the final product. And most importantly, you can't rush quality or perfection
