This Little Light Of Mine

I’m an “All In” kinda gal. When I like something, I REALLY like it. When I take on a new task, I put all my focus and energy into it. And when it comes to work, I throw my heart and soul into every patient encounter.

The downside of being this kind of person is that you eventually burn out. Like a candle, you illuminate and glow, but slowly lose a little of yourself in the process.

I’m trying to learn how to approach things with more guarded enthusiasm. To still be passionate about my work but maintain perspective and balance. I don’t want to be a candle. I want to be a rechargeable flashlight. To shine brightly, but at the end of the day, be able to plug in and revert back to 100%.
