Boss Lady
One of the struggles I have as The Boss is maintaining boundaries. Since my office is small, I tend to treat my staff like family instead of employees. Which makes it difficult at times to stay neutral and not get personally invested in the lives of my coworkers. I know that I am supposed to keep things impersonal, that it's all supposed to be "business." But the middle child in me yearns to be liked and can't stand having anyone unhappy with me.
When dealing with conflicts that arise in the office, I just tell myself, " Be fair. Be reasonable. Be kind." This may not be the most impressive management style, but I accept that this is just who I am, and how I run things in my office.
Being an awesome boss is harder than it looks!
